Professional Staff

LogoAt the heart of every great law firm is a dedicated professional staff. At Olson, Bzdok & Howard, our staff provides an unmatched and invaluable combination of organizational skills, document and file management, attention to detail, conscientious client care, and – critically – a sense of humor. Unlike at other firms, the professional staff at our firm are assigned to clients rather than to attorneys. We believe this system optimizes efficiency, improves quality control, and ensures that clients have direct relationships with the managers of their files.

Ruth AnnRuth Ann Liebziet joined our firm in 1987, and has served our clients with close attention and great care for more than 25 years. Ruth Ann is deeply experienced with many types of legal matters, proceedings, courts, and administrative tribunals. Currently, she supports our attorneys in litigation, municipal work, land use, water law, energy law, and general legal issues. Prior to joining Olson, Bzdok & Howard, Ruth Ann worked for trial and general law practices, both in Florida and elsewhere in Michigan.

DoreenDoreen Schramski also joined our firm in 1987, and, like Ruth Ann, has provided warmth and dedication to our attorneys and clients for more than 25 years. Doreen supports our attorneys in tribal and federal Indian law matters, municipal work, estate planning, corporate law, real estate issues, and all types of litigation in state, federal, and appellate courts. Prior to joining our firm, Doreen provided legal support to Michigan Indian Legal Services, a non-profit organization based in Traverse City.

ColleenColleen Mulligan joined our firm in 1996 and during that time earned her legal assistance certification and a bachelor's degree in business administration.  Colleen has handled many roles during her years with the firm including reception, billing, legal assistance, bookkeeping and general office management.  Colleen's knowledge in all of these areas contributed to her current role as the firm’s business manager including overseeing accounting, billing, marketing, and all aspects of client relationships.

KimberlyKimberly Flynn has almost a decade of law office experience, and, as our receptionist and intake specialist, she plays an important role as the firm’s first point of contact with potential and current clients, and with other attorneys. Kimberly is part of the firm’s energy law team, and supports our representation of clients in cases before the Michigan Public Service Commission. In addition, she handles client billing and general office management.

At Olson, Bzdok & Howard, we take advantage of the latest technologies for a specialized law practice, including best-available computer tools for communications and legal research. Our research and technology consultant is Michele P. Howard, who has a master’s degree in library science from the University of Michigan, and who was formerly the Computer Services Librarian at the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.

Our attorneys and staff work hard to keep abreast of developments in environmental science and technology, and to develop and maintain networks with lawyers and other professionals across the country. Through the innovative use of technology and personnel, we offer the amenities and results of a large metropolitan law firm, but at a substantially lower cost to our clients.
