Abbie Hawley is an attorney with the firm and specializes in environmental and natural resources law, land conservation, lake associations, real property, and estate planning. Abbie also assists on municipal matters and is currently serving as a City Commissioner for the City of East Jordan.

Abbie started her career clerking for the 46^th Circuit Court in Otsego, Kalkaska, and Crawford counties. She then worked for an estate planning firm, focusing on probate and trust administration. Most recently Abbie was the Director of Conservation Programs for a local land conservancy, focusing on land acquisition, the stewardship of preserves and conservation easements, and protection of water quality. Her passion for fighting for environmental causes led to her interest in working with Olson & Howard, P.C.

Abbie holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan where she was a James B. Angell Scholar. She received her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, where she was a Dean Charles H. King Scholar and earned a place in the highly competitive trial practice institute. She was an associate editor for the International Law Journal and has written several notes about environmental matters, including Pipeline 5 and Tribal gathering rights in National Parks.

When Abbie is not working, she spends time with her family, and working on restoring her 100-year-old house in East Jordan.
